W. Curtis Preston interviews Nancy Hurley, CEO of Bocada, at VMWorld 2012 in San Francisco. They talk about how Bocada provides visibility into VMware environments as well as physical environments. Their Vision product is a standalone module in the Prism family which can be used to manage virtual environments. It integrates with vCenter and can see information on backups by Veeam, vRanger, VDR, NetBackup and Backup Exec, with others soon to come. They are also working on integration with System Center. They talked about how Vision can take an inventory of all VMs and any snapshots taken of those VMs and whether or not they are protected.
