W. Curtis Preston interviews Trent Punnett, VP of Product Management, Systems Engineering, and Marketing for Teradici, at VMWorld 2012 in San Francisco. They talk about Teradici's focus, which is to improve the VDI experience. It uses PC-over-IP, which is a remote imaging protocol. Teradici is in charge of handling the remote imaging tasks in VMware View. Teradici's Apex 2800 offload card scans the most active displays on the VDI server and offloads the encoding to a card that has the Teradici chip, and then sends it over the network. It also has an RDSH solution that provides a common protocol over RDS and View sessions.
