W. Curtis Preston interviews Kevin Koski, Principal Business Architect for Iron Mountain, at SNW 2012 in Santa Clara, CA. They talk about the resurgence of growth in the tape business and the shifting role of tape that has occurred over the years. In the past, people used tapes primarily for backups with some of them being used for archives. Over the years, these usages have reversed. They also talk about Iron Mountain's goals of educating people at the event about the procedures for using tapes. Younger people may not necessarily be familiar with these procedures since cassettes, VHS tapes, etc. have been replaced by DVDs, iPods, and other devices that are easily replaceable.
