Description

W. Curtis Preston interviews Bradley Lystrup, Territory Manager for EVault, at SNW 2012 in Santa Clara, CA. EVault is a disk-to-disk data protection and disaster recovery company that offers on-premise and offsite cloud solutions. The user can have local, easy-to-access recoveries with the necessary offsite redundancy. It also features the ability to allow backups to the device on-site, where the device replicates the data elsewhere. The vault is active/passive, so data will be replicated directly to EVault's cloud even if the device fails. EVault also comes with an optional capital expenditure style model that allows users to replicate within their own data centers and eliminate monthly costs (in order to do this, they must buy the vaulting software as well as agents). They also talk about the latest announcement regarding the launch of EVault Director 7, which makes interfaces easier to use and adds one-to-one and many-to-one compatibility.
